How does our Blaqbook work?

We provide a free platform to see what’s trending in recommendations from friends and your favourite profiles. You will find the most up-to-date recommendations daily, curated from articles and social platforms. These include categories from hotels, restaurants, experiences, services, and products.

How do I sign up?

Download the app where you can see what’s trending daily. Create a Blaqbook account that allows you to connect with friends and share your recommendations. You can search for friends who have already downloaded the app or invite friends via the link and request to be friends. You can also follow people’s public accounts.

Create a public account.

Work your way to becoming a Blaqbook Ambassador (the best of the best) & give everyone access to your Blaqbook of places or things you love and want to recommend. You can change this setting in your profile at any time back to private.

Notifications settings?

We may send notifications when someone:  Requests you, likes or comments on your recommendations, or when you add a recommendation.

Tools

Choose from seven different themes to create recommendations. You can add videos, pictures, links/Affiliate links to personalise your recommendations. A custom recommendation button is available if you choose not to use the Google search feature and create a recommendation manually using your own links.

Explore

To use the explore feature always choose a category and continent. It will then list articles and recommendations from friends or profiles related to each city. You can also use the search feature on Blaqbook using keywords. For a more accurate search always choose a category and continent first before you search which is located at the bottom of the explore page.

Collections

You can add /edit collections to your profile as highlights by selecting individual recommendations. Click the new button under your profile, name the collection, and choose what recommendations you want to add.

What is a hit list?

You can save any recommendations or articles to your hit list, and it will add them under a category. The add hit list button allows you manually add places or products you want to try to your hit list through Google search.

Is it possible to modify a recommendation?

Once you add a recommendation it can’t be edited. You can delete and resubmit a recommendation.

Tips

As a registered user of Blaqbook you can receive tips for your recommendations via users from 99 cents to $10 per recommendation. This will be reimbursed to you by Blaqbook on a monthly basis.

Points

Blaqbook will recognise each time you add, like, or comment on a recommendation.  10 points when you add a recommendation, 2 points if you comment on a recommendation and 1 point when you like a comment or recommendation. 

Levels

There are 4 levels and which level depends on how many points you have.

Level 1  Member  0 – 200px

Level 2  Insider 200 – 500px

Level 3  Influencer 500 -1000px

Level 4  Amabassador 1000px
